1. What this policy covers
This policy explains how Instagram Reels Comments Extractor (“the extension,” “we,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Chrome extension or this website.
2. Information the extension handles
When you start an extraction, the extension processes:
- The URL of the Instagram Reel you selected.
- Public comment and reply text available on that Reel.
- Comment metadata such as usernames, Instagram user and comment identifiers, profile image URLs, timestamps, like counts, verification status, and reply relationships.
- A randomly generated installation identifier and activation identifier used to manage the three-day trial and lifetime access.
- Operational information such as export totals, generated filenames, extraction time, and whether an export succeeded.
The extension does not ask for or intentionally collect your Instagram password, authentication credentials, payment-card information, health information, or precise location.
3. How information is used
We use this information only to:
- Extract the comments and optional replies you request.
- Generate and deliver the Excel spreadsheet.
- Maintain trial and lifetime-access status for your browser installation.
- Show your extraction totals and support export redownloads.
- Diagnose failures, protect the service, and maintain its reliability.
4. Processing and storage
Extracted content is sent securely to our API at api.ice.softwrhq.com so
the requested Excel file can be generated. Export records may include the Reel URL,
item totals, an activation identifier, a one-way hash of the installation identifier,
filenames, and timestamps. Generated export files may remain on our server until removed
during service maintenance.
The extension also stores settings and recent extraction context in Chrome local storage, including the reply preference, anonymous access identifiers, progress logs, and the most recent extracted dataset. This local data remains in your browser profile unless cleared or the extension is removed.
5. Sharing and sale of data
We do not sell personal information. We do not use or transfer extension data for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to comment extraction, Excel generation, access management, security, and support.
Information may be processed by infrastructure providers that host the API and website, or disclosed when required by law, to protect users, or to defend the security and legal rights of the service.
6. Website analytics
This website uses Microsoft Clarity to understand aggregate visits and interactions. Clarity may process device, browser, approximate location, page-view, click, scroll, and session information according to Microsoft’s privacy terms. Website analytics are separate from the comments you extract through the extension.
7. Your choices
- You choose which Reel to extract and whether replies are included.
- You can clear the recent extraction context from the extension sidepanel.
- You can remove locally stored extension data by uninstalling the extension.
- You may contact us to ask about access to or deletion of server-side information associated with your activation identifier.
8. Security and children
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system is guaranteed to be completely secure. The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the extension changes. The effective date above will be revised when material updates are published.
